Shello! My name is Miley Cyrus and welcome to my blog! (To be read in Vanessa Bayer’s Miley Cyrus voice)
Just kidding. My name is Alana. I am currently a freshman film student at the University of Texas at Austin. Originally from the stellar city of Orange County, CA, I was barely eight before my family moved to the deep south (aka Memphis, TN). Five years later, while on a family vacation, my parents sat me down and delivered the news that we were moving back to the West coast. No, not California, Oregon, or Washington, but Canada. Why Canada you ask? To be honest, I couldn’t even tell you. Regardless, another five years flew by and before I knew it, I found myself sitting outside the ΔΔΔ house in the midst of sorority Rush, in the dead of an Austin, TX summer.
Who would have thought, right? I sure as hell didn’t.
For those who don’t know me well or didn’t have a clue I even existed before stumbling across this blog, I figure if you’re going to be reading my posts, you might as well know a thing or two about me.
- I watch movies…a lot.
- I HATE birds.
- I know 38 digits of π off the top of my head… clearly, I’m not a math major.
- I have the humor of both a 14 year old boy and a 60 year old, post-menopausal woman.
I absolutely can’t stand when people mispronounce my name.
Great! Now that we’re somewhat acquainted with each other, I’d like to formally welcome you to my blog. To be frank, I’m not quite sure what the general theme of this blog is or will be. I see it as an outlet through which I can share my experiences as a college student living in the coolest city in the U.S, well…in Texas, at least.
I’ve had one hell of a ride so far and I’d love to take you with me.
Thanks for reading and I guess that’s pretty cool! (Major props to you if you got the SNL reference)
p.s. I promise that all posts after this will be short, sweet and to the point. I, for one, have the attention span of a dead goldfish in the fetal position (you can thank one of my best friends for that one) and I can’t stand when blog posts go on and on.
